Power of Innocence

'I Am,' shouts Power.
'I love,' cries Innocence.
'Who am I?' wonders Mind.

No one replies
as the Oberon and the Virgin Queen
struggles for surrender
inside the heart of Man.

'Death' yells the Oberon
Unable to sustain
the weight of his abuse.
'Death' he cries sobbing.
'Death.
Give me Death.'

'But I Love you' cries Innocence.
'I Love.
Love cannot kill.'

'It is unbearable'
Replies the Oberon.
'Kill me.
Kill me.
How I have wronged thee.'

'No,' shouts Innocence
desperation wreaking her heart.
'Not you!
Mind did that.
I love you.
You ARE.
Death IS not.'

'But I believed in him,' cries Power.
Shame twisting around itself.
The vastness of being
writhing in agony.
Tearing time from space
leaving emptiness in its wake.

Mind is horrified
Facing the burning ground.
Unable to comprehend.

'Am I an illusion?' asks Mind trembling.
'You are ecstasy,' replies Innocence.
'You are creation,' exclaims Power.
'I am death,' laughs Mind finally
recognizing Wisdom.

'I did it!' admits the Christ.
'I did it!
I lied because I wanted to.
I killed Innocence.'

The roar of the Oberon
splits the sky
'Hatred be gone.
You are an illusion.
Love knows no mind.
Power has no mind.
Innocence IS.'

'But I have choice,'
shouts the Christ.
'I can believe.
I can choose.
I am the Christ.'

Stupidity.
Ignorance.
Loneliness
Pain.

The scream
of the son of man
Ignites the heavens
as he realizes the price of choice.
'How can one chose
Between two loved ones?
How can I sacrifice what I love?'

'Give me torment
Give me pain.
Destroy me
But do not ask that of me.'

'O God.
Why hast thou forsaken me?'
cries the Son of Man
as he faces the choice.
Alone
Alone
Always alone.

Son of God.
Helpless.
Sacrificed to mortal sin.
His blood seeping into the hill of Golgotha.

Thunder splits the veil
and splinters the foundation of the temple.
Only rubble remains
as the Son of Man embraces the cross.

'The lesser must die
That the greater may live,'
sounds forth the voice of silence.
'Such is the law.'

'I serve,' cries mind surrendering itself.
As the cold clear light
blasts it to smithereens
leaving nothing but silence.

'I have no choice,' laughs the Christ,
convulsing in ecstasy as he yields to Love.
embracing Innocence,
knowing himself as Creator,
recognizing himself as Eternity.

'I Am'
whispers Love innocently
and smiles.

'It is done' sighs the Christ
embracing the silence of the lamb.
'Finally.'

'I serve' repeats Mind one final time
before the great silence sets in.
